Greg Johanson, PhD is a Founding Trainer of the Hakomi Institute, editor of the Hakomi Forum, co-editor (with Ralph Cohen) of the Journal of Self Leadership, and on the editorial committees of four other professional journals. He has taught adjunct at a number of universities, currently at Loyola of Chicago Graduate School, and as Research Faculty at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute. He leads Hakomi workshops and trainings throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, and Australia, as well as being a trainer in Internal Family Systems work. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Pastoral Psychotherapist with degrees in psychology, philosophy, and theology, who did a Post-Doctoral Fellowship with the Center for the Study of Religion at Princeton University. He has published over one hundred items in the fields of pastoral theology and psychotherapy including (with Ron Kurtz) Grace Unfolding: Psychotherapy in the Spirit of the Tao-te chingthat has now been translated into German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. He has a special interest in combining IFS with Hakomi as it applies to teaching emotional intelligence to corporate managers, as well as supporting the IFS model of “Self and Parts in Everyday Life” that expands the work beyond the therapy world. Another interest is in the Integral Philosophy of Ken Wilber that relates spirituality to individual consciousness and behavior in the context of social and cultural issues. Greg and his wife Hope moved to Chicago in 2005 where they live in West Roger’s Park.
