community access partnerships

In the landscape of mental health care, representation matters and the need for culturally competent therapy is critical. IFS Institute works to honor our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion through our Community Access Programs; programming that gives organizations the opportunity to bring IFS to various communities. These programs offer discounted IFS Trainings to members of partner organizations. Current strategic partnerships, both offering discounted IFS Level 1 and Level 2 Trainings to members of their organizations, include Black Therapists Rock and Clinicians of Color. Let’s explore a bit more about these partnerships.

Founded by Deran Young, Black Therapists Rock (BTR) is more than just an organization; it's a movement dedicated to healing the healers within the Black community. Recognizing the transformative potential of the IFS model, Young reached out to the IFS Institute years ago to create a tailored program for Black therapists. Since 2019, the partnership has continued with over 100 BTR members completing an IFS Level 1 Training and in 2023 alone, BTR provided scholarships and accessible educational opportunities to over 166 Mental Healthcare Professionals from the Global Majority.  In the Fall of 2024, BTR members will begin their fifth Level 1 Training and their first Level 2 Training with the Institute.

Clinicians of Color (COC) was founded by Lisa R. Savage and Kim L. Knight and in 2023, the inaugural IFS Level 1 Training for members of Clinicians of Color was completed. Lisa and Kim came together with the desire to address disparities in the mental health arena as well as support the advancement of Mental Healthcare Professionals.  With their mission at hand “enhancing visibility and celebrating the exceptional contributions of Black and Brown Clinicians in the mental health field”, Lisa and Kim paved the way for many professionals to further their careers through accessible educational avenues.  Over 80% of COC members serve an exclusively Global Majority population and COC remains steadfast in striving for mental health equity.  In 2024, COC will begin their second Level 1 Training and first Level 2 Training with the Insitute.

Our Community Access Partnership survey is now open as we explore partnerships for IFS Trainings taking place in 2026. We invite those interested in partnership to please complete our questionnaire.
